Marine chain is the most important connecting equipment for ships sailing in the sea.

It mainly includes the following:

1. Stretching chain: The main function is to prevent the chain from being damaged by stretching when subjected to local forces.

2. Load-bearing chain: Mainly bear the weight of the anti-collision board and the veneer. 3. Shearing chain: The main function is to prevent the chain from being damaged when it is sheared and deformed.

There are some precautions in the design process of marine chain:

1. The size of the chain should be as accurate as possible and not too loose or too tight. 2. The chain cannot be twisted, otherwise the load capacity will be reduced.

3. Generally, studless chain is used.

4. The initial angle of the chain is very important. Under normal circumstances, the load-bearing chain should be at an angle of 15-25 degrees to the vertical, and the shear chain should be at an angle of 20-30 degrees to the horizontal, otherwise the chain will not function as it should.

5. The chain used must have a safety factor, and the safety factor of the chain is 2-3 times the working load.

6. Shackle selection: The size of the shackle and the size of the chain are generally the same during design. If the load of the shackle and the chain are required to be the same, the diameter of the shackle is generally larger than the diameter of the chain.

Only by following reasonable steps, can design the marine chain meet the requirements of use and make the chain play the most effective.
